The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the 97th annual Academy Awards nominations on Thursday, and the Internet’s ablaze with reactions.   This year’s Oscar nominations seriously lacked melanin, but some celebs secured Best Actress, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actress. On Tuesday morning, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced nominations for the 94th annual Academy Awards and there's already lots of chatter about well-deserved recognition and snubs. This year's ceremony which will be produced by Will Packer and directed by Glenn Weiss, will include 12 nominations for the film The Power of the Dog, 10 nods for Dune, seven for Belfast, and seven for West Side Story. Additionally, viewers of the Academy Awards will see the Best Actor category include nominations for Denzel Washington for The Tragedy of Macbeth and Will Smith for King Richard, marking the second time the actors have been up against each other for the Oscar.

The 2021 Oscar nominations are in and while they're the most diverse range of acting nominees in the award show's history, the befuddling Best Supporting Actor category is raising eyebrows.  Earlier today the nominees for the 93rd Academy Awards were announced and they included a Best Actor nomination for the late Chadwick Boseman, a Best Actor nomination for Steven Yeun making him the first Asian American ever nominated in the category, and a Best Actor nomination for Riz Ahmed making him the first person of Pakistani descent ever nominated for any acting Oscar. Also, Viola Davis' Best Actress nomination for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom officially made her the most-nominated Black actress EVER with 4 nominations. Additionally, she's the only Black woman with two Best Actress nominations.

Regina King's Directorial Debut "One Night In Miami" Trailer Released. The film is also debuted at this year's Venice Film Festival.
