Flint Water Crisis
On Wednesday, United States District Judge Judith E. Levy approved a partial settlement that will provide $626.25 million to tens of thousands of Flint, Michigan, residents who were impacted by the city's years-long water crisis.
Benton Harbor, Michigan and 20 organizations petitioned the EPA for emergency action after more than 3 years of contaminated drinking water. The predominantly Black town has lead levels 60 times the federal safety limit while nearby predominantly White towns have no complaints of contamination.
