Anthony Duwayne Turner
Police arrested Michelle's ex-boyfriend/fellow Bank of America executive, Anthony Duwayne Turner, 52, on suspicion of murder later that day and he's pleaded not guilty to one felony count of murder and one count of first-degree residential burglary. Now the Avan family is announcing that they're laying the beloved woman whose life was cut tragically short to rest. According to a press release, Michelle's funeral service will take place in Inglewood, California, and will be live-streamed online.
Now Michelle's children are imploring D.A. George Gascón to file special a circumstances murder charge against Turner. KTLA reports that the family's reeling over the DA’s decision not to add the additional charge which would make Turner ineligible for a harsher sentence if he is convicted. The family's adamant that despite suit and tie pictures of the exec and his attorney's comments that he's a "pillar of the community", Turner's actually a cold-blooded murderer.
There's a shockingly sad story surfacing out of Reseda, California involving a Bank of America executive whose life was tragically cut short. Michelle Avan was well known, well-liked, and well-revered for her work to improve diversity in the banking industry. She served as Senior Vice President at Bank of America and head of global women’s and under-represented talent strategy in global human resources. On Thursday however, a family member found Michelle's lifeless body in her home after doing a wellness check. KABC News reports that a cause of death has not been confirmed but Michelle “appeared to have suffered trauma to her face.”
