We’re not quite sure why there is a need for both a “Miss World” and “Miss Universe” competition, but we sure are grateful for another opportunity to celebrate the beautiful Black women of the world.
And to make it more interesting, we figured we would match up this year’s Black Miss World contestants with their Miss Universe counterparts. We found that a lot of countries don’t quite see the need for two pageants either: some only send a representative to one pageant, while a couple sent the same girl to both.
