Gloria Govan Opens Up About Matt Barnes Break Up

The day Matt Barnes sent out his statement about kicking his baby mama Gloria to the curb, she and the other Angry Birds Of LA were over at VH1 taping their “reunion” show.

So of course, the good folks at VH1 jumped on the opportunity to ask Gloria about it.

I saw the news today about you and Matt, and I know your relationship has been shown a lot this season and we’ll see even more of what’s going on with you a the end of the season, but can you talk about your split?

Matt and I do have kids and we’re trying to be as cordial as we can right now and we’ll be in each other’s lives forever, but as relationships go, we have our ups and downs. It hasn’t been an easy ride moving across the country twice, having kids at 21 when I just graduated college, it hasn’t been easy. And now Matt has the lockout, so everything has been stressful with the breakup, the lockout, everything, it’s been a whirlwind. But we’re still friends and we’re still working things out and I wish him nothing but the best.

I just asked your sister Laura about it and she said she thinks you’ll get back together.

Of course she does. My whole family is rooting for that man. I swear. They would pick him over me. I’ve learned my lesson, never say never and I think anything is possible, but right now I’m taking my time to grow as an individual. Not only for myself but for my family. We’ll see. I’m not going to say never, I’m optimistic, but for now…we’re going our separate ways. But if our paths cross again it’s meant to be. For now, we’re just taking our time to do our own thing. And Laura of course wants it. With her situation with Gilbert (Arenas), she’s been in and out, out and in. She has a lot of experience and good advice when it comes to situations like this.

Do you look up to her and think if they can get back together, anything’s possible?

Anything is possible but am I looking at them like “Yay, we can get back together because Laura and Gilbert have fluctuated so much and they are back together”? No. I look up to my sister, I think she’s a very string person but in terms of relationship, I’m walking to my own drum here.

Do you want to sow your oats and date other people, is that part of it?

I think that’s a lot of people’s assumption, that oh, she wants to f— around and f— everything because he did and it’s like NO. A), it’s such a double standard, even if I wanted to I can’t because they’d put me on blast if I did. And B) I have kids, you know? I’m not looking to date anyone at this moment, I’m just going to take this opportunity to take a step back and reevaluate where I wanna go in life. And I think I have a long way to go to make my mark in feature films and in my community, but I’m happy. I’m happy with where I am now.

Sounds good, albeit a little delusional, right? But you know are always three sides to every story…

Unfortunately for people who do dirt, someone always knows about your dirt and will gladly give the info up if asked.

In Gloria’s case, no one even had to ask. A woman identifying herself as a long time friend of the Barnes family reached out to several media outlets yesterday, hoping to clear up any misconceptions the public may have about Matt Barnes’ decision to end his long engagement to the Basketball Wives star and mother of his twin sons.

According to this informant, Matt ended the relationship not because he wasn’t ready to marry Gloria, but because he’s finally had enough of her cheating ways. The woman claims that Gloria cheated on Matt as recently as a week ago with non-other than rapper The Game, who made headlines recently after proposing to his girlfriend of seven years. The source says this wasn’t the first time Gloria and Game did the do either, and he is not the only celebrity she’s been with.

Matt’s friend claims that Gloria has also been with Jamie Foxx during the course of her relationship with Matt and that he caught her in the act having sex with a well known producer. And it hasn’t just been celebrities either, the “friend” claims. Gloria allegedly had sex with some random man in a New York nightclub on a recent trip with her castmates and was spotted leaving with that same guy at the end of the night

Beyond the cheating, which Gloria has also accused Matt of doing, the informant claims that the couple’s fighting, which often escalated to physical violence, was also to blame for their split.

So why did it take so long for Matt to walk away? His friend claims that he did all he could to salvage the family for the sake of his sons.

Hmmm… Now we have her side and (almost) his. All we need is the truth.
