(New Orleans, LA) In the fields of entrepreneurship and corporate leadership, Black women continue to be the largest growing demographic, however they represent only 3% of women in technology. With a total of 27% of computing roles in technology held by women – Black women are disproportionately and grossly underrepresented. Keshia Walker, founder of The Black Collegiate Gaming Association (BCGA) believes that in order to close the huge gap in the fastest growing field in the U.S. economy it’s important to start with educating young women of color on the possibilities that a tech career can offer. The first organization committed to women of color in the gaming industry, BCGA has partnered with Amazon, Reworld, Microsoft, and Walmart Business, to honor the trailblazing Corporate & Women Entrepreneurs in Technology and to host an informative panel discussion on how to recruit more women of color. amazon
