In her hometown of some 200,000, Kim Porter is being remembered with love.
It was a somber, yet spirited funeral in Columbus GA.
Porter’s longtime partner Sean “Diddy” Combs spoke of how she was irreplaceable. He said that Kim taught him how to love.

@keishabottoms proclaimed December 15 as “Kim Porter Day” in Atlanta. Congressional, State, and local officials also made presentations.

We heard songs from @YolandaAdams, @therealFaithEvans, and @MarvinWinansjr . @therealMaryJBlige spoke of how Porter influenced her when she first visited Uptown Records in New York City. Other celebrities at Porter’s funeral included Russell Simmons and ex-wife Kimora Lee, @DJKhaled @Usher, @FatJoe @tyrese @kandi @toyawright @cynthiabailey10 @neneleakes Lil Kim and many others.

A very poignant moment was when Porter’s son Quincy became emotional, as he and adopted dad Diddy spoke.

This is Kim and I at our favorite club called the tunnel in NYC 1992. The beginning of a friendship that would span 3 decades.. Kim was a rare species. The epitome of calm, cool and collected…the original smooth operator. I would marvel at Kims ability to always stay calm in all circumstances. I always felt safe around her because she could handle anything. She was a rock. She was loving, compassionate, fun, and a great listener. Kim and I shared the best of times and the worst of times over the years and when our lives were busy, we would always meet up right where we left off like no time had passed at all. That rare kinda friend.
