Robin Thicke Honors Aretha Franklin With Clip Of Son Singing “Amazing Grace”

It seems Robin Thicke is continuing the legacy of vanilla soul one way or another, and this time, it’s manifested in his son with Paula Patton.

Eight-year-old Julian Feugo Thicke dished his creamy falsetto to “Amazing Grace,” a song Aretha Franklin covered on her iconic live gospel album Amazing Grace.

Julian’s performance was back in May, but Robin figured it’d be a good time to post the video on Instagram in light of Aretha’s recent passing.

Lil’ Julian even resembled his dad with his performance wardrobe — complete with white jeans and alligator slip-ons.

Robin Thicke’s relationship with his son has been filled with ups and downs.

At one point, ex-wife Paula Patton supposedly refused to let Robin see Julian earlier last year. Then sources said they made amends only to fall back into drama, with allegations of child abuse on Robin’s end. Paula’s nanny argued that Julian was scared of his father.

Now, in 2018, it seems the chaos is settling down a bit.

Robin recently welcomed a new daughter with his girlfriend April Love Geary, and Julian was there to celebrate his sister’s arrival, according to E! News.

Robin has also shared content on his Instagram page of him and Julian rafting, fishing, and even hanging out with E40 together.

By IG standards, it seems the dad hat is settling on for the blue-eyed crooner, despite past drama.

Hopefully, with new footage of his singing son, Robin won’t turn into a crazed child star parent that’s messed up many kids before.

Fingers crossed.
