Joy Bounds Claimed The Singer Was Negatively Affecting Their Sons

A judge has tossed Lyfe Jennings’ baby mama‘s legal battle over her claims that he shirked his support obligations and negatively interfered in their kids’ religious upbringing.

A Georgia judge threw out Joy Bounds’ contempt suit because the mother didn’t show any evidence to back up her claims.

Bounds, the mother of two of his children, filed a petition for contempt in Cobb County Superior Court recently. The two battled it out in court over custody and support years ago, with a final order being entered into their case back in 2009.

A judge awarded Bounds primary physical AND legal custody of their kids. She was granted the power to make all important life decisions for their sons. The singer was awarded only visitation in the order. He was also ordered to pay $4,000 a month in child support.

However, since the order was entered Bounds said Lyfe has made her life hell by refusing to abide with their court order by provide proof of life insurance, not paying his kid’s medical expenses, along with negatively intervening in the kids’ religious teachings and has messed with their emotional and mental health.

She sued, demanding Lyfe be found in contempt of court for violating the 2009 order and wanted the judge to order him to comply ASAP.

Lyfe blasted his baby mama’s motion for contempt saying she is full of it and denied all allegations. Throughout the years he has exercised liberal parenting time with his kids, until recently, when she began wrongfully refusing to allow him to see them, he said.

The singer wanted the judge to order a visitation schedule so she can’t refuse him. He asked that the motion for contempt be denied and she pay his legal bills

Then earlier this month, the judge came back with his final order in the case over contempt and visitation and sided with Lyfe by throwing out the motion for contempt Bounds filed.
The order said Bounds failed to submit sufficient evidence to substantiate her claim for contempt on the grounds that Lyfe failed to pay reimburse her for expenses or that he interfered with her religious decision making authority.

He ordered the mother to continue having primary physical custody and secondary custody to Lyfe.

It’s not the first time the exes have hashed out their relationship problems in front of a judge.

Earlier this year, Bounds slapped Lyfe with a restraining order that forced him to stay 200 yards away from Joy and their two children. According to her petition, she accused Lyfe of trying to brainwash their boys and even threatened her with violence.

Cops also arrested the singer in 2008 for allegedly kicking down Bound’s home door, firing shots before leading police on a high-speed chase. He was sentenced to three years in prison.

She claimed she feared for her safety after Lyfe made light threats including telling his baby mama she wasn’t hard to find and told her “I’m gonna remember this” after an incident. He countered that he was a good father and others would back up his claim.
