Robert Griffin III Filed For Divorce From Estranged Wife Rebeca Liddicoat

Injured football phenom Robert Griffin III has revealed the details of his shock split from his soon to be ex wife Rebecca Liddicoat.

Griffin filed for divorce from Rebecca Sept. 7, and according to his divorce petition, he said his marriage had become “insupportable” because the two couldn’t get along anymore. He also said he thinks there’s no hope for reconciliation – this according to the quarterback’s divorce docs, which were exclusively obtained by BOSSIP.

“The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between petitioner and respondent that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation,” Griffin’s petition states.

The college sweethearts married last Spring, right around the time of the birth of their daughter, Reese, according to the petition. But rumors swirled that Griffin was getting his balls handled off the football field, and the Cleveland Browns player later announced that he was separating from Liddicoat.

He almost immediately began dating another woman, college athlete Grete Šadeik – even getting her name tattooed on his arm – while Rebecca has withdrawn from public life.

In the petition, Griffin doesn’t list their date of separation, but said they’re no longer living together and their daughter is living with Liddicoat some 50 miles away from their $2.2 million former family home. He said he wants them both appointed as “joint managing conservators” of the daughter, but wants his wife to have primary custody. The 26-year-old also agreed to pay child support, but doesn’t specify how much.

Griffin said that he expects he and Liddicoat will make a deal out of court on divvying up their property, but if they can’t come to an agreement, he asked the court to enforce their prenup.

Liddicoat, meanwhile, has yet to respond to Griffin’s filing.

We reached out to Griffin’s lawyer, who declined to comment.
