Reality Star Didn’t Have Insurance When She Says Security Assaulted Her During Fashion Week

Love & Hip Hop New York’s Tahiry Jose said she owes nearly $31,000 on medical bills after a security guard beat the brakes off her during NYC Fashion Week.

The model and reality star said she didn’t have insurance back in Sept. 2014 when she said Carlos Suggs launched an unprovoked attack on her as she was getting ready to walk in the Angola International Fashion Show.

“Plaintiff did not have health insurance at the time of the accident,” Tahiry said Feb. 5 in court papers obtained by BOSSIP. “All of her medical expenses are outstanding and are part of this claim.”

She’s suing Suggs, the security guard, for the medical bills, pain and suffering and “loss of enjoyment of life,” after she said the assault left her with a head injury, a concussion, spinal injuries, wrist damage, post-traumatic stress disorder and headaches, according to court docs in Manhattan Supreme Court.

She said the attack put her in the hospital for two days, and she didn’t leave the house for four months except to go to the doctor. Tahiry said it’s been hard for her to return to filming as a result of the beating and she continues to suffer severe pain, confusion, can’t sit for long periods or lift heavy things.

The pain was so bad, Tahiry said last summer she had to get an epidural – an anesthetic used during childbirth to numb the lower half of the body, the reality starlet’s court papers state.

Joe Budden’s one time lover said in court papers that she’s been to at least a half a dozen doctors in New York and New Jersey to get treatment – including a chiropractor, physical therapy and a neurologist. In all, the ordeal has set her back a total of $30,599.

The woman is also suing the venue, the fashion designer and the PR firm for hiring the guard who manhandled her, claiming they didn’t properly train him and should’ve known he was violent.
