J.Cole Performs “Be Free” Dedication To Mike Brown On David Letterman Show
As some continue to remain skeptical about whether or not this generation is capable of consistently fighting for change, young people throughout the world are continuing to come together in support of the fight for justice against the police war on black lives.
Among the many displays of support worldwide this week, multiple U.S. & International media outlets reported that at least 76 people were arrested in London following a die-in and peaceful protest at the Westfield Shopping Center:
No stranger to using his celebrity to bring awareness to social issues in the black community, talented Roc Nation/Dreamville lyricist J.Cole shocked fans yet again last night when he used his appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” to promote justice against police brutality. Peep page 2 for the video of his performance and more pics from the die-ins across the world.
J.Cole dropped his highly-anticipated third studio album Forest Hills Drive just days ago and could have easily used his first televised appearance since the official release to promote it by performing a song off of the album, but he instead used the national platform on “The Late Show with David Letterman” to bring more awareness to the police war on black lives by performing his moving tribute “Be Free.”
Cole dropped the track back in August, just days after unarmed Ferguson, MO teen Mike Brown was murdered by police officer Darren Wilson. Take a look at his powerful performance on Letterman below.
